The factory noise isolation of a car is not enough for many drivers because of the multitude of noises that occur while driving. That’s why sooner or later the issue of additional noise insulation occurs in the car service center, at the official dealer or by your own hands. What materials to use, how much does it cost to isolate the car, which areas are included in the work – not all questions that arise in the mind of a car owner. This is despite the fact that this procedure is carried out not for the first year.

Pluses and minuses of noise isolation of the car

Sometimes the question arises: why the full noise isolation is not performed at the factory? There are several reasons. The first and most important one is the increase in the cost of the car due to each completed work. The second one is the time of noise isolation. The factories prescribed every minute of the work, and violating these deadlines is impossible.

Noise isolation has pros and cons, which every car owner should be aware of before performing this complicated technical process.

Pros of noise isolation:

Comfort while driving. Thanks to the work performed, the driver stops hearing constant external noises, both on the highway and in the city limits, which undoubtedly makes any trip more comfortable;

Protective function. After performing deshumming, parts of the car become more protected from corrosion and from external mechanical impact;

Audio sound. After the work is done, the sound of any song in the cabin will be significantly improved, and listening to music will be more enjoyable;

Preservation of temperature inside the car. Due to the additional equipment of the car, the cold temperature from the air conditioner and the warm temperature from the heater are better preserved inside the cabin.

There are not many minuses, and they are insignificant, but they are there:

Absolute noise isolation can lead to poor hearing of sounds on the road (signals, etc.);

Weight. With the performance of the service, will increase the weight of the car, which threatens not significant, but an increase in fuel consumption;

Possible denial of warranty repair. The service can deny warranty repair of your car.

Noise insulation zones of a car

Almost any part of the car can be insulated:
